The Striders were formed to meet requests from members to walk a distance between the ‘Straddlers’ (about 9 miles) and ‘Walking with a Pub Lunch’ (about 5 miles), and so we walk about 6 miles and finish with a pub lunch. The pace is a little faster than the 4-5 mile walk because we need to get to the pub for lunchtime!

Lifts from Fairford in other walkers cars are normally possible, for which a small fuel contribution is required, walkers each pay £1 per outing towards the Group Leaders expenses.

Monthly walks are organised and led by a rota of members drawn up at the joint Straddlers/Striders annual meeting in December.
